Often referred to as the “Golf Coast”, Citrus County Florida boasts over 20 world-class golf courses. Recently Golf Digest Magazine ranked five Citrus County golf courses among the top 100 courses in the nation. These outstanding Citrus County golf courses include Southern Woods Golf and Country Club, El Diablo, Black Diamond Ranch, and two courses at World Woods (Pine Barrons and Rolling Oaks). |

Southern Woods Golf and Country Club in Sugarmill Woods, is surrounded by the natural vegetation of Homosassa, Florida. Southern Woods Golf Course was nominated by Golf Digest Magazine as the best new private golf course when it was opened. Black Diamond Ranch is an upscale, private, gated community with one of the most unique and challenging golf courses in the United States, offering 45 holes placed about a flooded limestone quarry. The Black Diamond golf course was designed by Tom Fazio and features a green at the bottom of the once productive limestone quarry. Offering up lofty views out over the quarry, the famous quarry course at Black Diamond has made it one of the top-ranked golf courses in the world. |

Located just south of Citrus County in Brooksville is the World Woods Golf Club which offers not one, but two exciting 18-hole golf courses, Pine Barrons and Rolling Oaks. World Woods has become known as a world caliber practice facility for golfers and was nominated by Sports Illustrated Magazine as "the best golf range in the world". At World Woods, the Pine Barrons course boasts that “the final five holes could be the toughest stretch in the South.” The Pine Barrons Golf Course was ranked 9th in 1999 and the Rolling Oaks Golf Course was ranked 63rd that same year. Other noteworthy golf courses in Citrus County Florida are Skyview Golf Course at Terra Vista, and El Diablo Golf and Country Club in Citrus Springs, the Dunes Golf Course at Seville, as well as the Sugarmill Woods Golf and Country Club in Homosassa. |

As one of the newest golf courses in Citrus County, the Skyview Golf Course at Terra Vista of Citrus Hills is the talk of the town. The Skyview Golf Course is located high at around 150 ft. elevation offering breathtaking vistas. In Citrus Springs Florida you find El Diablo Golf and Country Club. Measuring 7.045 yards with 75.3 championship rating and a slope of 147, El Diablo offers a challenge to the most advanced player. A less intimidating challenge awaits those who play the 6,888 yard silver tees, the 6232 yard blue tees or the 5654 yard white tees. El Diablo golf course was referred to as “the best new affordable public golf course in America” by Golf Digest Magazine. |

The Dunes Golf Course is also located in Brooksville, Florida. The Dunes golf course weaves through the densely wooded and beautiful terrain following the natural lay of the land. The golf course makes use of the naturally sandy soil and other features, challenging your accuracy and consistency. Sister of the Southern Woods Golf and Country Club mentioned earlier, is the Sugarmill Woods Golf and Country Club both are located in Homosassa, Florida. The Sugarmill Woods Golf and Country Club offers three golf courses. |

The Cypress Course, which has narrow fairways and is heavily bunkered. The Oaks Course is water free and more open than other courses. And the Pine Course which is the longest of the three golf courses at Sugarmill Woods.
